DECC: The Department for Energy and Climate Change brings together two departments – the energy policy and the climate change mitigation policies. As such, they look after the legislation to do with FiTs and the consumer protection.

Solar Power Portal: Covers much of the technical news about the solar industry.

DEFRA: The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs website is a one stop shop for information not only about the natural environment but about sustainable development and the green economy. Their focus is on climate change; information includes white papers being passed through Government, and funding.

The intergovernmental panel on climate change: The IPCC was set up to asses climate change. Read there findings by clicking the link.

MCS: The Microregeneration Scheme is awarded to those who can fit solar panels efficiently, and so is the litmus test for all who wish to work in the industry.

Energy Saving Trust: A one-stop shop for learning how to be more energy efficient, with tips and guides throughout this comprehensive website.

Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT): An educational and visitor centre looking at renewable energy, including photovoltaics and solar thermal.

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory: A hotbed of research in renewable energy located in the United States, which includes solar PV.

IPSOL: Provides solutions in the commercial solar PV sector.

REUK.UK: A comprehensive site about different components in Commercial solar PV installations.

The Carbon Trust: A non-profit organisation which set out to help businesses and the public sector to cut carbon emissions.

APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence): This is a not-for-profit local government body working with more than 300 local authorities in the UK.

Renewable Energy Focus: Provides a forum for research, industry, financial organisations and government bodies on the renewable industry.

PV Magazine: PV Magazine concentrates on covering the latest PV news, topical technological trends and worldwide market developments.

Joey Shepp: Website of an entrepreneur, expert and public speaker in American Solar Photovoltaics.

Solar Industry Magazine: Covers a range of topics concerning solar – from raw materials straight through to end-user applications.

Do the Green Thing: A handy site with tips encouraging a green lifestyle.

The Environment Agency: A body set up by the Government to oversee and uphold regulations which protect the environment.

Photovoltaics in Buildings – Guide to the installation of PV systems (2nd edition): A guide to the installation of Solar Photovoltaics, in its second edition now, which takes into account experience gained since the introduction of the DTI solar PV grants programmes.

Act on CO2: The government website dedicated to encouraging people to do their bit for the environment.
